We care deeply about the future of our country and want to stand up for democratic values.
Started in 2016, Miller Street is a neighborhood-based, multi-generational group in Portland, Oregon. We build community by helping people get involved, take peaceful action, and stay informed.
We share resources, invite speakers and local leaders to talk with us, and work together on projects that make our community stronger.
We’re aligned with the Indivisible movement and often team up with other grassroots groups, but we make our own choices. We think carefully about how we get involved to be sure our actions match our values.
NONVIOLENCE: We engage peacefully and encourage civil discourse, even in disagreement, to build a stronger community.
INCLUSIVITY: There is a place for everyone at the table. We welcome anyone that believes in creating a more fair and equitable society.
COLLABORATION: It takes a village to raise a democracy! We amplify our collective power through community partnerships, and by encouraging members to engage however they feel most comfortable.
